By now most of you should be familiar with the "virtual sex" format. A pornstar is filmed against a black background. By highlighting various onscreen icons you can move her into different sexual positions, change her mood from innocent to naughty, even flick ahead and make her "come." The pornstar is filmed in such a way that it's supposed to give you sort of a first person POV experience. I still haven't successfully figured out how to really get into this sort of DVD (who has?) but it's sort of cool.
Janine's DVD in Digital Playground's Virtual Sex series follows the format described above. The DVD is broken up into 4 main segments: Strip, Stories, Foreplay and Sex. Be warned, if you don't check out the Strip and the Stories sections before going to the sex segments, it's a little hard to renavigate back to that first menu. I had to start over a couple of times.
Strip: Just a softcore strip with Janine pulling off a bra and panties to reveal her goodies. Goodies inculde a pierced vagina. Nothing too special otherwise.
Stories: You won't miss anything if you don't check this out. Against various backgrounds (flames, etc.) Janine strips and poses as her voice tells stories about having sex after a softball game and other boring crap. Nothing too stimulanting.
Foreplay: Unlike some of the other VR sex DVDs out there, your choice of tools for the foreplay is a little limited. You get fingers or a dildo (during this segment, two dildos actually are used - one in the pussy and one in de ass). I couldn't fast-forward this segment which kind of pissed me off. In the Naughty mode Janine says "My ass is just eating it up." That's pretty great.
Sex: The bulk of the material is located here. 4 main sex positions as well as oral and anal. There are 2 angles for every scene (as with the rest of the DVD) and you can skip to the comeshots. But here's the big big problem: the person fucking Janine is a chick fucking her with a strap-on. This is astoundingly great news for all the lesbian chicks out there who've got their strap-ons ready for a VR disc such as this but for all of us guys left holding our very real penises it's sort of a let-down. The strap-on is apparently a fancy on that solves the multiple comeshot problem: it spits out fake semen. So, I don't know if Janine has a huge lesbian following that I'm not aware of or what but...kind of a let-down even though strap-onning is something far too often overlooked in porn.
The anal sex advertised so neatly on the cover is that same strap-on fitting uncomfortibly in Janine's ass. There's not enough lube to ever really get going so it's sort of dry, slow and not too energetic.
So, it seems like a good idea, but I'm giving this a 2. Unless I decide to cozy up to my TV with a strap-on this didn't really get my imagination flowing.
