Phantasm, released by Wicked Pictures, pits Jenna Jameson against TT Boy and Asia Carrera in a battle of sexual will-power (ooooo!). After entering through an unmarked alley door, two friends (TT and Asia) find themselves in "the biggest sex club in America," a secretive dark place where they are offered a challenge: Survive three sexual escapades in order to make it to the top of the club.
Phantasm has some pretty major flaws. First of all, there's the lame plot and ridiculous dialogue, which we'll overlook and live with (it's a porno, right?). Then there's the poor sound production. Some of the characters seem mic'ed. Others aren't. There's about 70 decibels difference between Asia's blood-curdling screeches of orgasm and Jenna's whispered dialogue. And, strangely, the background music quits halfway into every scene. I mean music, then silence. Every time. Adding to the list of bitching, Phantasm is a bit short. You'll only get five sex scenes and most of them (4 of 5) are girl-girl-guy with pretty standard moves and positions.
Bad news done with, there is some hope for Phantasm. Brigette Monroe's tight asshole receives some stretching for the movie's first (and only) anal, and there's about two minutes of strap-on action too. Actually, Phantasm's got a sort of fetish-oriented feel that may appeal to lovers of spanking, piercings, and voyeurism/exhibitionism. In one scene, Asia gets mauled by that one long-haired dude in the middle of a room full of weirdos and other onlookers. Imagine yourself there among them (shouldn't be too hard).
As for the fabled Asia and Jenna pair-up so lavishly illustrated on the box-front, well, don't expect much from Jenna. She finally gets it on with Asia and TT in the final scene, but it ain't nothing to stand up and cheer over. The movie ends with the three in a big group hug. Doh!
Just average.
